Australia Threat Report

Carbon Black has just released its latest Australian Threat Report, where they surveyed 250 CISO’s and CIO’s from eight industry sectors in Australia. – The findings highlighted:

89% of Australian businesses have been breached in the last twelve months with over a third of those (34%) saying they have been breached 5 or more times. The average number of breaches across all sectors was 4.28.

81% of Australian organisations have seen an increase in cyberattacks on their company in the past 12 months. Of those 25% have seen up to a 25% increase, 27% have seen an increase between 26-50%, and 28% have seen more than a 50% increase in attack volumes.

The global trend towards more sophisticated attacks is underlined in Australia, with 88% of respondents reporting that the threats they are experiencing are growing in complexity. In fact, 29% stated that attacks had become significantly more sophisticated.
