IBM Platform Computing Maximizes CME Group’s Computation Power and Performance

Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), one of the world’s largest derivatives exchange, handles over 12 million contracts daily. CME is using high performance IBM Platform Symphony grid management software to power its Standard Portfolio Analysis of Risk (SPAN) application to comply with new Dodd-Frank based reporting requirements, enabling the firm to analyze 200,000 plus portfolios in a matter of minutes. Platform Symphony enabled CME to scale up their analytics 700 times, and complete all calculations in minutes rather than hours.
