Migrating Enterprise Workloads to the Cloud: Customer Experiences with Oracle Cloud and Amazon Web Services

When considering which cloud infrastructure to use to migrate their workloads, customers generally take
into account pre-migration considerations, such as service cost and performance; the time, cost, and
complexity of the migration; and post-migration of price/performance, ongoing operational cost, vendor
support, SLAs, and service manageability of the stack.

This research paper has established that many
customers experienced significant benefits by
migrating their enterprise workloads to Oracle
Cloud versus AWS. These advantages include
30% to 50% lower service costs, 55% to 100%
better price/performance, up to 70% less effort
to migrate, and 30% to 40% lower operational
costs.
