Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is considered to be a promising technique against the multipath fading channel for 4G & 4.5G wireless communications. One of the major drawbacks of multicarrier transmission is the high Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of the transmit signal. If the peak transmit power is limited by either regulatory or application constraints, the effect is to reduce the average power allowed under multicarrier transmission relative to that under constant. This paper present different PAPR reduction techniques and conclude an overall comparison of these techniques.
