When Underwater Acoustic Sensor Networks (UASNs) transmit large amounts of data, the collisions of link layer increase, and it causes that the traffic load of link is heavier. These situations could easily lead to network data loss, unfair channel competition and unfair data transmission. In order to reduce collisions and improve the reliability and fairness of data transmission, Time Distance Ratio (TDR) and underwater fairness transmission are presented, and this paper proposes a Fair Data Transmission Strategy (FDTS) for UASNs, which consists of queue management, transmission control and competition waiting.
