A Generalized Call Admission Control Scheme for Overflowed Traffic in Multilayer 3G Wireless Mobile Networks
Multilayer cell structure has become a major trend in the design of 3G wireless mobile networks in order to support the high capacity demand required for various types of traffics in 3G systems. In this type of network an efficient call admission control scheme is required to improve the Quality of Service (QoS) of the system. In this paper, the authors propose a new generalized call admission control scheme to handle overflowed traffic in a three layered cell architecture i.e., microcell, macrocell and satellite cell of 3G wireless mobile networks. Three types of traffic is considered in the system data calls, voice calls (new/handoff) and handoff voice calls.
