In modern VLSI systems a large proportion of power is consumed by interconnect and switching. The reduction of static and dynamic power dissipation are the major challenges in the rapid growth of the VLSI technology. With the emerging nanometric technologies, Multiple Valued Logic (MVL) circuits have attracted significant attention due to its advantages in information density and operating speed. The main contributions include the implementation of Ternary logic in the Carbon Nano Tube FET's (CNTFET) and their various performance metrics like static power consumption, propagation delay and power delay product are compared with the existing MOSFET based ternary logic gates.
