A New Dual Channel Based Medium Access Control Protocol for Ad Hoc Networks

Ad hoc networks are widely researched and applied on various fields. To implement Ad hoc networks, the IEEE 802.11 standard Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol are widely applied. However, there are some problems which decrease the transmission efficiency of wireless networks at the standard MAC layer. The standard use 4-way handshake procedure (RTS/CTS/DATA and ACK) to overcome the MAC layer problems. But some problems cannot be solved if only a single channel is used in MAC Layer. Therefore, many multi-channel based MAC protocols were proposed to prevent MAC layer problems.
