Multi-hop clustering is more preferred than the single-hop one because the transmission range of the Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) nodes is not determined by the size of the network area. However, the multi-hop method brings a new problem related to the workload imbalance between the Cluster-Heads (CHs). Unequal clustering becomes the most proposed solution of the unbalance load, but the calculation of the radius clusters still become a big challenge to achieve a maximum balancing degree. In this paper, the authors propose a new unequal clustering algorithm based on the partitioned circles network model, having better accuracy in the energy consumption analysis than the rectangular one.
