The correct positioning of the sensor node itself is the premise and foundation to the study of other WSN system, so the exact position of the node is extremely crucial. Unlike node localization algorithms of current fixed beacons, a node localization scheme Virtual Beacon Selected-Non-linear Least Squares (VBS-NLSs) based on virtual beacons is adopted. The node achieves self-positioning by solving the least cost function consisted by many pairs of energy ratios, which is based on hyper spherical cross mechanism. Then an optimization method named nonlinear least squares is proposed to approximate node position.
