A Node-Priority Based Coordinating MAC Protocol in MANET

Aimed to make full use of the radio characteristic, the authors proposed a priority-based Coordinating MAC protocol - CoMAC. Based on the CSMA of IEEE802.11 MAC and wireless capture effect, CoMAC introduced the concept of coordinating transmission node in Multi-hop wireless Ad hoc network and chose the coordinating node based on the network condition to shorten the communication distance, so that it can reduce the collision probability of packets and then improve the spatial reuse rate of the network. The simulation results show that the packet delivery ratio and average end-to-end delay of CoMAC both superior to that of the IEEE 802.11 MAC protocol and MASA.
