A Novel Accurate Time Synchronization Algorithm Based on IEEE 1588v2

To solve the problems of the inaccurate time stamps and low synchronization precision when some sync messages are lost existing in the one-step synchronization mode defined in IEEE 1588v2 standard, this paper proposes ATSA, a novel accurate time synchronization algorithm. Four new mechanisms are designed in the new algorithm, i.e., the code execution time is calculated to compensate the timestamps, delay resp (response) messages carry the actual deviation value, slave clocks synchronize with the master clock twice and optimizing the offset value.
