The high penetration of renewable energy sources such as wind power and photo voltaics experienced in the last decades is a good example, as both generation systems are connected to the grid by means of power electronics-based power processors that should not only control the power delivered to the network, but also contribute to the grid stability, supporting the grid services although the various (voltage/frequency) under generic conditions, even under grid faults.
