The rational unified process can also be regarded as a software engineering process, delivered through a web-enabled, searchable knowledge base. This paper represents an overview of rational unified process; its history, and practices involved; stressing its advantages and disadvantages. A comparison with other approaches is mentioned in context; whenever appropriate.
