Cryptography is a process of hiding information for security purpose. It is the art or science of converting a plain intelligible data into an unintelligible data and again retransforming that message into its original form. Cryptography provides integrity, confidentiality and accuracy. The plain text is encrypted into an unreadable form known as cipher text. Decryption is done to get the original plain text from the cipher text. It is done for security purpose. In this paper, the authors are presenting a review of cryptographic algorithms: AES (Advanced Encryption standards) and DES (Data Encryption Standards).
