Traffic in the network is directed by network services. Network service is one of the parameter which contributes to the Network Traffic. Many selection and placement algorithms of network services is available out of which researchers focus on the Shortest Route gateway selection, Closest Gateway Selection and not much on the network traffic and congestion in the route. In this paper, the authors have proposed a novel approach called Revised Optimal Closest Gateway (ROCG) mechanism with load balancing incorporated in it for Traffic Engineering. Rather than concentrating only on the shortest route which is prone to traffic, this work uses the ROCG.
