Cloud Computing (CC) is a term used to describe both a platform and type of application. As a platform it supplies, configures and reconfigures servers, while the servers can be physical machines or virtual machines. On the other hand, CC describes applications that are extended to be accessible through the internet and for this purpose large data centers and powerful servers are used to host the web applications and web services. CC provides the next generation of internet based, highly scalable distributed computing systems in which computational resources are Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) offer cloud platforms for their customers to use and create their web services, and much like internet service providers (ISP) offer customers high speed broadband to access the internet.
