Software engineering is a highly collaborative and complex process involving a large number of different roles. In this process, every activity comprises the development of software artifacts that are created by a specific role or provided by others and that might serve as input for subsequent activities. Hence, software engineering highly depends on efficient management of and access to various kinds of information. This paper presents the concept of a Software Organization Platform (SOP), which aims at supporting the creation, storage, and exchange of such information as well as personal or organizational experiences. Furthermore, the authors introduce their prototypical Wiki-based implementation of the SOP concept, which leverages less formal, innovative technologies from the Web 2.0 domain.
