Slope stability calculations are based on the equilibrium of the resistance and action effects, which are based on simplifications that it is harder to treat them in statistics. There are various form of uncertainties associated with soil parameters used in slope stability analysis. This paper presents a review of different approaches in slope stability analysis, highlighting the shortcomings of these deterministic approaches. Finally, the use of fuzzy logic method is enumerated that takes care of uncertainties in soil parameters.
