Recently, subscribers are using services utilizing various kinds of virtualization technology. The authors propose Virtual Machine (VM)-based terminal mobility management. The mechanism requires enhanced mobility control procedures and data transmission procedure comparing with the existing mobility management like Access Independent Mobile Service (AIMS). The procedures newly introduce location notification message from Mobility Information and Control Server (MICS) to VM. The proposed mechanism consequently mitigates a bad effect and improves bottleneck caused by distributed mobility management.
