Electricity generated through steam and hydro - turbines have been serving one since ages. It has reached its limits. Outages, blackouts are becoming inevitable. So, there is a need to develop a system that is able to identify the links right from the source of electricity generation to the consumers that are vulnerable to failures, automatically switch over to other network load if need be, be prepared prior to such a situation and hence take corrective measures to restore the electricity transparently. All this can be done by applying machine learning and data mining algorithms to the existing infrastructure.
