Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are a new technology foreseen to be used increasingly in the future due to their data acquisition and data processing abilities. A sensor network is a collection of communicating sensing devices, or nodes. This paper studies the WSN and the lifetime of the WSN. This paper review the various issues of the WSN that decrease the network lifetime. Then the paper discusses the Cache memory and the scheduling using the cache memory. Then the paper gives brief overview of the work done on cache based scheduling in the WSN.
