In Wireless Sensor Network (WSN), there is in need of continuous usage of wireless sensors which in turn consumes more energy leading to frequent failure of nodes and thus reduces the period of life of the network. Hence to improve its lifetime, consumed energy is to be minimized. LEACH is an important clustering protocol in which energy consumption is reduced for improvement of network lifetime. In this paper, simulation and comparison of various LEACH protocols such as LEACH, multi-hop LEACH, grid LEACH, C-LEACH, CC-LEACH and H-LEACH with respect to residual energy, packet loss, packet delivery ratio and throughput were focused using NS-2 simulation tool.
