As an important supplement to the traditional security measure based on cryptography, the trust mechanism has a significant advantage at the aspects of resolving internal attacks, identifying malicious nodes and improving system security and reliability in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). A novel trust model based on grid is proposed which divides the trust relationship in WSN into four different layers: the trust relationship among normal nodes in one grid, the trust relationship between cluster-head node and normal nodes in one grid, the trust relationship among cluster-head nodes of different grids and the trust relationship between base station and grids.
