Gossip based routing method has been used and re-investigated in MANETs to reduce the number of messages in both wired networks and wireless ad-hoc networks. However, the global gossiping still generates many unnecessary messages in the area that could be far away from the line between sender node and receiver node. In this paper, the authors propose to develop a new gossip based broadcasting protocol. For the gossip based broadcasting, two probabilities namely, the rebroadcasting or gossiping probability (p) and the replication probability (q) are considered. The gossiping probability p is estimated based on the network density and is dynamically adjusted in order to achieve both reduced rebroadcast and high reachability.
