Fingerprint technology is no safer in today’s world. Fingerprints are unique for everyone but it is also easily reproducible, without the use of complicated technologies. In this paper, the authors demonstrate the matching of an ink stamped fingerprint of an individual with a picture of the users thumb. The matching process involves few Matlab programming and Photoshop. For clear, noise free samples the match percentage can be anywhere between 65-100%. Usually a value above 70% is considered a perfect match.
