In order to realize fault-tolerant topology control of wireless sensor networks and take account of the properties of limited battery energy of single node, the authors concern residual energy of each node and introduce node fitness function. Based on this fitness function, they control the up limit value of node degree and then build a fault-tolerant topology control algorithm SF-NF (Scale-Free topology evolution based on Node Fitness) based on scale-free theory. Dynamic analysis indicates degree distribution of SF-NF topology obeys power law distribution and has fault-tolerant property of scale-free structure.
