Public key cryptosystems are vital primitives for today's information systems security. The basic task in which public key cryptosystems are involved, is in assuring the transfer of some secret information over a channel that is unsecured. In order to achieve this objective a trapdoor one-way function can be used. Although the concept of trapdoor one-way function is rather old, there are not very many candidates for this purpose. Therefore finding candidates for trapdoor one-way functions is itself a goal. In this paper, the authors propose a trapdoor permutation based on what they call an extension of the RSA trapdoor.
