In this paper, the authors have designed the patch array antennas with the slots capable of working in the E-band as the size of patch capable of operating in Ka-band. The slots inside the patch have the symmetry as the U-shaped slots. The designed array antennas have multi-mode characteristics at 77GHz. As a result, this paper is proposed the possibility of prototyping by design and analysis of microstrip array antennas 4x4 for automobile anti-collision system as using a typical FR-4 epoxy substrate.
