The database is a collection related data in an organized manner. This is the best way of storing the data. A distributed system can be visualised as a set of sites, each site consisting of a number of independent transactions. A distributed database is a database in which storage devices are not all attached to a common CPU. It may be stored in multiple computers located in the same physical location, or may be dispersed over a network of interconnected computers.
