TCP/IP is the main and most widely used transport protocol for reliable communication since the Internet arrived. The use of original TCP/IP protocol on wireless links in spreading the Internet has encountered some serious performance issues. New versions of the TCP have been proposed to improve data transmission performance. Because of its widespread need, researchers have been studying and proposing new TCP variants trying to improve its behavior. There are different variants of TCP named TAHOE, RENO, NEW RENO, TCP VEGAS, COMPOUND TCP, HS (High Speed) TCP etc.
