The television industry has been very slow in adopting Internet technology. But those broadcasters who believe it won't be a threat - or, indeed, of any use - to them in the future should bear in mind that the TV show that attracted the largest audience of recent times was a web-cast of the US sitcom, Victoria's Secret. More people logged on and tuned in for that than the infamous 'Clinton tapes'. Some stations are, however, grasping the nettle and are providing access to either live transmissions or NVOD-type operations, particularly in the news environment, across the Internet.
