Association mining is the process of discovering associations and correlations among items in large transactional or relational data sets. Association rule learning is a popular and well-researched method for discovering significant relationships between variables in large databases. The Apriori rule is one of the most well-known learning algorithms for generating association rules. The drawback of this algorithm is that the number of times it reads data in the database is equal to the number of candidates it generates. Much research has been devoted to reducing the amount of time required to read data from the database.
