The Enterprise Architecture (EA) purpose is to provide a clear and comprehensive picture of the structure of an entity, either an organizational or a functional or a mission area. It is an essential tool for effectively and efficiently engineering business processes and for implementing and evolving supporting systems. The methods, approaches, languages for developing and describing EA, such as the open group architecture framework, acknowledge the importance of business modeling in the development of EAs. Business modeling support is needed to specify and document EA components and their relationships.
