Cacheable Web Request Management at Dispatcher Level in Cluster Web Server Systems

The world wide web is of an exponential growth in size, which results in network congestion and server overloading. In order to achieve web server scalability, more servers need to be added to server farm for distribute the load among the server farm. Web caching has been recognized as one of the effective schemes to alleviate the service bottleneck and reduce the network traffic, thereby minimize the user access latency. Freshness and validation are two processes done at server level before the serving a cacheable objects.
