Wireless Mesh Networks (WMNs) have emerged as a potential technology for next-generation wireless networking. It is becoming a reasonable choice to offer Internet access in an inexpensive, convenient, and quick way. WMNs consist of mesh routers and mesh clients where fixed mesh routers form the multi-hop backbone of the network and it is assumed that each individual mesh client will follow the prescribed protocols. WMNs being multi-hop wireless networks are prone to most of the security attacks. They are vulnerable to several kinds of attacks because of their inherent attributes such as the open communication medium.
