Many-core computing platforms can be used to parallelize computations by dividing the data to be processed into smaller chunks and processing them simultaneously on different cores. One possible approach in such parallelization is to set up a pipeline such that each smaller chunk of data passes in turn through all the processors involved. In this paper, the authors examine some approaches to set up such a pipeline on the Intel SCC. They use a combination of the message passing and the shared memory capability of the SCC hardware through the interfaces provided by the RCCE library for their implementation.
