As the cloud infrastructure market matures and competition intensifies, vendors are modifying their pricing models to attract the greatest number of customers. In the process, cloud vendors have attempted to fine tune their offerings with attractive pricing structures. In some cases, such as with VMware, pricing updates have gone poorly and have caused widespread customer backlash. In cases of vendor consolidation, such as Citrix's acquisition of Cloud.com, efforts are underway to combine and present an updated pricing model that reflects the combined offerings of both companies.
