Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have attracted a great deal of research attention due to their wide range of potential applications. The large-scale deployment of WSNs and the need for data aggregation necessitate efficient organization of the network topology for the purpose of balancing the load and prolonging the network lifetime. Clustering has proven to be an effective approach for organizing the network into a connected hierarchy. In this paper, the authors construct a model of WSN based on the theory of Autonomy-Oriented Computing (AOC), present autonomy oriented computing approach to solve the problem of clustering in a WSN.
