Combined Selective Mapping and Turbo Codes for PAPR Reduction in OFDM Signals

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a multicarrier modulation technique where the 4G wireless applications are focused towards this technology. The major drawback of OFDM system is high Peak to average power ratio .The proposed work is based on Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) reduction by the implementation of turbo codes. Comparison of PAPR is carried out for different types of turbo codes. Simulation results shows that the Hybrid Convolutional Concatenated Codes (HCCC) gives a better reduction of PAPR when compared to other convolutional concatenated codes applied in this paper.
