With the rapid development of Internet web technology the large-scale distributed computing and cloud storage service demands have brought great challenges to traditional relational database. In recent years, a growing number of companies have adopted NoSQL technologies to accomplish scalability and higher availability and they handle unstructured data such as documents, email, multimedia and social media efficiently. Document oriented NoSQL database MongoDB has many security vulnerabilities which can be reduced by good cryptographic techniques. In this paper, the authors studied public key cryptography techniques named elliptic curve and RSA for data encryption/decryption time analysis and the key size used by them for the same level of security.
