In recent years, vehicular networks have gained much attention in industry as well as academia. Most of the research in this area is simulation based. The determination of the performance of protocols in Vehicular Ad hoc NETworks (VANETs) is achieved by mobility models or the movement patterns of nodes communicating wirelessly which play a vital role in simulation. It is essential to study and analyze various mobility models and its performance in VANET protocols. In this paper, the authors propose a Dynamic Transition Mobility Model (DTMM) and it is compared, analyzed and thoroughly examined with various mobility models.
