WiMAX networks are the most important broadband wireless technologies and are anticipated to be a viable alternative to traditional wired broadband techniques due to its cost efficiency. WiMAX networks support multimedia applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP), voice conference and online gaming. The IEEE 802.16 standard, also known as Worldwide interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), has emerged as the strongest contender for broadband wireless technology with promises to offer guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) networks support high mobility. This paper presents a comparative performance analysis for WiMAX networks with CBR traffic on AODV, DSR and OLSR routing protocols.
