Comparison Between ID3 and C4.5 in Contrast to IDS

An Intrusion Detection System (IDS) is application software or device which is used to supervise system deportment or network for malicious actions and violations of policies set by the administrator and generate a description about the unwanted activities to administrator. The intrusion detection part of the name is a bit of a misnomer, as an IDS does not actually detect intrusions it detects activity in traffic that may or may not be an intrusion. In this paper the authors proposed an IDS that is a software application and monitor network through a client server approach and to detect user's activity they can use a process monitor for intruder detection.
