This paper presents the details of experimental and analytical investigations carried out on Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer bridge (GFRP) decks subjected to static loading. The experimental model is one-third scaled model of a 3.75m bridge superstructure. The overall dimensions have been arrived at as per Indian Road Congress (IRC) code. The static testing of prototype GFRP composite bridge deck panels are carried out under the simulated wheel load of IRC Class A wheeled vehicle. Two rectangular patch loads are applied symmetrically over the deck and the maximum deflection been obtained.
