In this paper, the authors investigate a cooperative spectrum sensing based improved energy detector for Cognitive Radio Network (CRN). The improved energy detector, which uses an arbitrary power operation of the amplitude of the received samples, has already been discussed in the literature. The decision of each Cognitive Radio (CR) is forwarded over an imperfect channel to a Fusion Center (FC). The proposed analysis focuses on decision fusion strategy at the fusion center. Under decision fusion, they employ \"K -out-of-N\" fusion rule at the fusion center with consideration of error in the reporting channel due to fading. They derive mathematical expressions for the probability of false alarm and missed detection when the improved energy detector based cooperative spectrum sensing is used.
