CORDIC Algorithm for WLAN
CORDIC (for COordinate Rotation DIgital Computer) also called as the digit-by-digit method and Volder's algorithm. It is a simple and efficient algorithm to calculate hyperbolic and trigonometric functions. It is commonly used when no hardware multiplier is available (e.g., simple microcontrollers and FPGAs) as the only operations it requires are addition, subtraction, bit shift and table lookup. This paper aims to implement CORDIC Algorithm for WLAN. The design is coded using VHDL language and for the hardware implementation XILINX Spartan-3FPGA is used. VHDL implementation is based on results obtained from Xilinx ISE simulation.
