Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks (VANETs) are the special case of Mobile Ad-hoc NETworks (MANETs) with high mobility and frequent changes of topology. Vehicular Ad-hoc NETwork(VANET) facilitates the vehicles to communicate with each other as well as with the Road Side Unit (RSU).VANET has many applications such as safety applications includes road defect warning, infotainment applications includes locating nearby coffee shop or fuel station. The authors have studied the different components of VANET namely Road Side Units (RSUs),On Board Units(OBUs) and Application Unit(AU) along with the data aggregation flow. They have also taken into account the two aspects of data aggregation i.e. routing based and aggregation based.
