Data Portability Using WebComposition/Data Grid Service
Web 2.0 has become the ubiquitous platform for publishing, sharing and linking of content. While users are empowered to create and manage their data, the latter is still scattered and controlled by distributed and heterogeneous web applications. The data is usually stored in internal silos and is only partially exposed through platform APIs. As a result, the reuse possibilities, fine-grained access control and maintenance of distributed data pieces become a time-consuming and costly activity, if feasible at all.
