Wireless ad hoc networks are widely used networks as they provide convenient solutions to sensing problems in both civilian and military domains. The nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) are to be protected from adversaries as they are vulnerable to various attacks. Many protocols came into existence to secure communication in WSNs. However, there was less research found in the literature with respect to energy depletion attacks that reduce the quality and availability of network. Recently Vasserman and Hopper introduced a protocol named PLGPa that could provide satisfactory solution to special kind of energy depletion attacks named vampire Attacks.
